Career Synopsis

​

Various positions until 1977 when after seeking more of a challenge I applied for a job at IKEA.

Since then, after realizing that business was going to be the professional way of life for me, I have held various managerial positions in different countries, and have lead and managed hundreds of employees. Leading as a chief procurement manager at E.ON for 5 years and recently project manager within sustainable cities; working with and implementing the UN 17 sustainable targets with a wide range of stakeholders.

At Senior Partners we are offering, Recruitment support, Manager to hire, Business devleopment and Board members. Manager to hire is focused on temporary placement solutions following the customers need. The typical fields are general management, senior specialist roles. My experience adds value in the field of procurement, supply chain. A further experience is within sustainability and work with inplementation of the sustainable development goals, SDG.

Projct manager sustainable city

​

The position has focused on implementation of sustainable solutions adding value to a district with severe problems. The assignment covered sustainable energy solutions, solar panel installations over to other sustainable issues like secure and safe pathways and street lighting soutions.

Project Manager Retrofit

​

The position is responsible for development of business products in the segment of Retrofit business along with developing future district heat business models, product and services and customer interactions. The work is set up to define new strategies, products, sales packages and perform pilots and tests prior handover to sales organization.

Chief Procurement Manager – E.ON Sverige
(March 2008 to May 2012)

​

The position is responsible for the procurement process at E.ON Nordic with an annual volume of 13 billion SEK. The position includes improving daily operation, strategic procurement development, competence and performance management. The position is a member of the global management procurement team of E.ON.

Distribution Manager Western Europe – IKEA SA West

(Feb 2005 to March 2008)

​

This position is responsible for the distribution and replenishment to all IKEA outlets in Netherlands, Belgium and UK. It also includes operating 5 Distribution centres of approximately 3 mio M2 goods annually. Further, it includes the goods flow planning and day-to-day support to all outlets. The Transport function is an integrated part of the organisation. The position includes leadership over 600 co-workers and end responsibility for the performances. This position also involves membership in the global Management team of distribution and several projects run on global basis.

Managing Director – IKEA Trading und Design AG

Switzerland (1999- 2005)

​

Promoted to the position of managing director for Europe, based in Switzerland. This position includes being a member of the global purchasing management team; deputy purchasing manager for IKEA; chairman of six operative purchasing units in Europe; establishment and maintenance of worldwide supplier base and day-to-day leadership and management of employees. Also includes extensive travels, negotiations, and board of directors meetings, budgeting/finance, and strategy and programme development.

Promoted to country manager for the purchasing office, with responsibility for general operations, leadership and management in Germany and The Netherlands.

Applied for and accepted this international job outside of Sweden, but within the IKEA group of companies in 1988.

First challenging international assignment with responsibility for the business leadership, supplier relationships and employee management.
